RAUNCHY, MERCENARY, VOLBEAT Among Winners At DANISH METAL AWARDS
November 19, 2006The Danish Metal Awards 2006 were held last night (Saturday, November 18) at Amager Bio in Copenhagen, Denmark. The winners were as follows:
Album of the Year: MERCENARY - "The Hours That Remain"
Debut Album of the Year: SUBMISSION - "Failure To Perfection"
International Album of the Year: SATYRICON - "Now, Diabolical"
Track of the Year: SUBMISSION - "Deathride To Escape"
Production of the Year: RAUNCHY - "Death Pop Romance"
Artwork of the Year: RAUNCHY
Live Band of the Year: VOLBEAT
Talent of the Year: FRAMELESS SCAR
Honor Award: MERCYFUL FATE
As previously reported, original MERCYFUL FATE members Michael Denner (guitar),Hank Shermann (guitar),Timi "Grabber" Hansen (bass) and Kim Ruzz (drums) appeared in public together for the first time in 22 years to accept the "honor award" (vocalist King Diamond was unable to attend the event due to the fact that he is currently working on the new KING DIAMOND album in Dallas, Texas).
